RedAlert Platform
The whole fire marshal's office, in one system
Inspections, permits, occupancy records, hazardous materials, and fire investigations on one platform, documented on an iPad in the field. Your occupancy types, your permit types, and your code sets, configured to how your jurisdiction actually enforces. And every property record shared with the crews who respond.
Configured to your jurisdiction, not ours
Every department inspects different things under different codes. RedAlert Fire Prevention is built to be configured rather than accepted as-is.
You define your occupancy types, so a department managing industrial, commercial, and multi-family properties tracks each the way it actually thinks about them. You define your permit types, each with its own stipulations, cycle length, and renewal workflow. And you define your violation code sets. Most code set you need are already in the system, and anything local to your municipality gets uploaded alongside them. Inspectors can add ad-hoc violations on site when something doesn't map cleanly to a code.
The whole workflow, in the field
Inspectors run the full inspection on an iPad: the code checklist, violations pulled from your code sets, photos, notes, and signature capture. The violation letter or compliance notice is generated and sent from the app before leaving the property. Failed inspections create re-inspections automatically or manually, and a calendar view shows everything scheduled and due.
Permits generate directly from inspections, with custom types carrying their own stipulations and cycle lengths, and renewal letters produced automatically as expirations approach. The full application-to-expiration history stays on the property record.
The part no standalone inspection system can do
Prevention work only pays off if the people responding know what prevention found.
The property record an inspector opens is the same one your crews see in RedAlert Responder and on the MDT. A hazard documented on a Tuesday inspection is on the tablet at the next call to that address. Hazardous materials get logged by type, quantity, and location with NFPA data. A dry hydrant written up during an inspection shows darkened on the responder's map. Hoarding conditions, compromised stairwells, active construction, and anything else an inspector wants the engine company to know travels with the address.
Investigations, from the scene to the courtroom
When a fire needs a cause and origin determination, RedAlert handles the case. Incidents, leads, evidence, and findings are tracked in one case file rather than a binder, and cases link back to the originating incident record and to the property.
Investigation reports come out court-ready, which matters when the case ends up somewhere other than a filing cabinet. And because the investigation, the incident, and the property's inspection history all live in the same database, an investigator can see what the last inspection found without asking anybody for it.

Common questions
Can we use our own inspection forms and violation codes?
Yes. Inspection types, checklists, occupancy types, and permit types are all configured by your department. Most standard code sets and state codes are already in the system, and we upload any local codes your municipality adopts. Inspectors can also add ad-hoc violations during an inspection when something doesn't fit an existing code.
Can inspectors work from a tablet in the field?
Yes. The iPad app runs the full inspection workflow on site: the code checklist, violations, photos, notes, and signature capture. Inspectors can generate and send the violation letter or compliance notice from the app before leaving the property, and everything syncs to the property record immediately.
Do our first responders see what our inspectors find?
Yes, and this is the reason to keep prevention and operations in one system. Inspectors and responders work from the same property record, so hazardous materials, hoarding conditions, construction hazards, dry hydrants, and utility shut-offs appear in the Responder app and on the MDT when a call comes in at that address.
How do permits work?
Permits generate independently based off an application or from inspections, with custom types carrying their own stipulations and cycle lengths. Renewal letters can be produced as expirations approach, and the full application-to-expiration history stays on the property record.
Does RedAlert handle fire investigations?
Yes. Investigations run through a case management tool that tracks the incident, leads, evidence, and cause-and-origin findings, and produces court-ready reports. Cases link back to the originating incident record and to the property, so an investigator can see the inspection and incident history at that address without going somewhere else for it.
Can we manage hazmat response in the system?
Yes. Hazmat team members, response tracking, and property-level hazardous materials data are all supported, including NFPA data. Teams that operate without their own FD ID can use internal dispatching to track their own responses separately from the external dispatch system.
How do complex properties work?
Parent and child property relationships handle malls, campuses, apartment complexes, and multi-building industrial sites, so a specific unit carries its own record while rolling up to the site.
Can we track inspection equipment and inventory?
Yes. Inventory management includes barcode and QR code scanning from a phone or tablet, tracked in the same system as everything else.
