RedAlert Platform
The report you need is probably already in there. If it isn't, we build it.
RedAlert ships with hundreds of reports covering incidents, personnel, training, apparatus, and everything else in the system. When what your auditor, board, or grant application wants isn't one of them, Alpine's engineering team builds it as part of your implementation. That's not an escalation path. It's how the product got this deep in the first place.
Thirty years of “somebody else asked for this too”
Our rule has always been simple. If more than one department asked us for the same report, we made it standard in the system.
Thirty years of that adds up. Departments who buy RedAlert find that most of what they need is already built, because a department somewhere already needed it and asked. The library isn't a list somebody drew up in a product meeting. It's decades of accumulated customer requests, hardened into the product.
Reports come with the modules they belong to. Incident and response reports, personnel and training reports, and attendance reports come with those parts of the system. Preplan, prevention, hydrant, and apparatus reports come with those modules when you have them.
Custom fields are the reason the custom reports work
Underneath RedAlert is a table-driven SQL database, and that structure is what makes the reporting flexible.
Any record in the system can contain additional fields: dropdown menus, checkboxes, or free text. A field you add to the incident report, the personnel record, the training record, or the apparatus record gets filled in during normal work and flows upstream into reporting. That's the mechanism behind every custom report we build.
It's how departments get custom payroll reports built around their own time codes. Custom ISO documentation. Custom OSHA reporting. Custom training compliance reports for a state office with particular requirements. Custom point calculations for a LOSAP or stipend program whose rules don't look like anyone else's. Custom plus-one codes and special studies tracked per incident for the county or the city.
If your department needs to track something, we add the field. If you need to report on it, we build the report.
Questions that cross the whole department
The reports that matter most are the ones that span systems, and those are exactly the ones a patchwork of point solutions can't produce.
Which members are within ninety days of a certification lapse, and how many calls did each of them make. Which addresses have both open code violations and repeat incident history. How many hours of round-the-clock coverage the department documented last year, by station. Which apparatus failed the most checks and what it cost to keep running.
Those are single-query questions in RedAlert because none of that data was ever separated. In a department running five systems, each one is an export, a spreadsheet, and an afternoon.
What's included
- Hundreds of built-in reports across incidents, personnel, training, apparatus, attendance, prevention, and preplans
- Custom reports built by Alpine's U.S.-based engineering team during implementation and after
- Custom fields on any record: dropdowns, checkboxes, and free text, flowing into reporting
- Custom payroll reports formatted to match what your payroll system imports
- ISO documentation: staffing coverage, training hours, hydrant records, and apparatus history
- OSHA and state compliance reporting built to your requirements
- Grant-ready response and performance data
- Board and commissioner reporting, formatted the way your board expects
- Year-end reporting for LOSAP, stipend, and pay-per-call program administrators

Common questions
Can we get a report RedAlert doesn't already have?
Yes, and it's one of the most common reasons departments switch to us. Alpine's engineering team in Rochester builds custom reports as part of the implementation process so the system is tailored to your specific reporting needs.
How many reports come with the system?
Hundreds, and which ones you have depends on which modules you run. Incident, personnel, training, and attendance reports come with those parts of the system, and preplan, prevention, hydrant, and apparatus reports come with those modules. Our rule for thirty years has been that if more than one department asked for the same report, it became standard, so the library reflects what departments actually need rather than what we guessed they'd want.
Can we add our own fields to track things RedAlert doesn't?
Yes, and this is the foundation of the whole reporting capability. RedAlert is specifically architected so that we can add dropdowns, checkboxes, or free text fields to any record in the system. Those fields get completed during normal work and flow upstream into reporting.
Can we report across incidents and personnel together?
Yes, and that's the practical advantage of an all-in-one system. Response history, training, certifications, attendance, and incident data all live in the same database, so a question touching several of them is one report rather than four exports and a spreadsheet.
What reporting do we need for ISO?
ISO reviews staffing coverage, training hours, hydrant and water supply records, and apparatus documentation. RedAlert holds all of it, and departments running duty crew clock-in at the Kiosk have the underlying record to document round-the-clock coverage. See our ISO ratings guide for the full picture.
Can we build our own reports?
Yes, and you can also just ask us. Departments configure their own reports, and when something is complex or unusual, Alpine builds it rather than pointing you at a manual.
Can RedAlert produce reports for our payroll system?
Yes, as a custom report formatted to match what your payroll system imports. Your administrator selects a date range, pulls the report, and uploads it. It isn't a live interface, but it means the format matches what your payroll tool expects rather than requiring somebody to rekey it.
