A lapsed certification is a staffing problem, a liability problem, and sometimes a grant problem. Finding out after the fact is the worst version of all three.

RedAlert tracks certifications with expiration dates on the member record and warns you in advance, so recertification gets scheduled rather than discovered. Because certifications sit on the same record as response history and attendance, you can answer questions that cross them. Which members are ninety days out from expiration. Which of those are your most active responders. Which shift is about to be short a driver-operator.

Attendance that isn't a clipboard

Drills, trainings, and meetings are scheduled on the department calendar, and attendance is recorded the way that fits your department. An officer checks members off the list in RedAlert Desktop or from a phone in RedAlert Mobile. Members can also check themselves in at the RedAlert Kiosk before the event starts.

Members can also use RedAlert Mobile or the Kiosk to sign up in advance for upcoming events, so an instructor knows the headcount before the night of rather than counting heads in the bay.

Training hours that count for something

Training and drill attendance feed your LOSAP, pay-per-call, stipend, or points program under the same rules as call response, so a member's training participation shows up where it matters without anybody maintaining a second list.

The same records answer the questions that come from outside. ISO reviews training hours closely. Grant applications ask for them. State offices audit them. Because the hours were captured as they happened and live next to everything else on the member record, producing that documentation is a report rather than a project.
